A stay at the hotel is generously all-inclusive of all dining including breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, open bar with house wines and spirits (a cellarmasters list is available at an additional cost), two half day excursions or one full day excursion daily with other guests, use of heated indoor pool, hydro-massage, jacuzzi and steam room and return transfers from Puerto Natales airport.

Airfares are not included.

Guests are encouraged to study the giant, hand-painted wall map at the hotel and locate the landmarks and areas they want to visit during their stay. Our expert guides ascertain each guest’s physical activity level and personal interests to build a bespoke itinerary to suit. Touring may also be arranged on a private basis for an additional charge, subject to availability.

Complimentary wifi access is available throughout the hotel (limited bandwidth).

The hotel offers complimentary shared transfers scheduled at specific times between Puerto Natales airport and the hotel, taking one hour.

Check-in time is 3pm and check-out time is 11am. Where possible, flexibility with early check-in and late check-out will be provided, however, these are unable to be guaranteed. The facilities of the main hotel are available for enjoyment whilst at the property.

The hotel has a no-smoking policy in all suites and shared common areas. Smoking is allowed in designated outdoor areas. Please ask our staff for guidance on these areas.

Tierra Patagonia welcomes children ten years and over.

To confirm the reservation we require payment of 30% of the total value of the rate, within 7 days of requesting the rooms. The balance is required to be paid in full 30 days prior to arrival. All international payments are processed via Paypal. Settlement is also accepted by international bank transfer; please advise Tierra Hotels once paid to ensure receipt.

As Tierra Patagonia is situated in a remote destination, we have a strict cancellation policy. We strongly recommend guests have a travel insurance policy covering medical care and cancellation due to any reason.

Cancellations made 91 days or more prior to arrival will be charged an administration fee of USD $150. Cancellations within 90 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 20% of the booking total. Cancellations within 60 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 30% of the booking total. Cancellations within 30 days prior to arrival will incur a fee of 100% of the booking total.

Tierra Patagonia is located in Chilean Patagonia in the South of Chile neighbouring the Torres del Paine National Park. LATAM and SKY operate two-hour flights from Santiago to Puerto Natales airport. Another alternative is to take a four-hour flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas Airport, providing a broader range of flight choices. The hotel offers complimentary shared transfers scheduled at specific times between Puerto Natales airport and the lodge, taking one-hour.

Though transfers from the local airport are part of our all-inclusive program, self-driving to Tierra Patagonia is possible, and we do have onsite and nearby parking available for your convenience.

The easygoing atmosphere at Tierra Patagonia encourages comfortable casual attire. Hiking boots are suitable for the bar and merino wool is perfectly acceptable for dinner. It is very common to experience rain, wind, snow and sun within the same day and for this reason, it is best to be well prepared with adequate clothing. Excursions in Torres del Paine National Park require solid, water-resistant hiking shoes and layered warm clothing. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen year-round and a bathing suit.

Chilean Patagonia’s climate brings famously changeable weather, with four seasons often experienced in one day. In spring and summer, the sun rises early and sets late offering mild days and cool nights. Fall and winter see a dramatic transformation as the landscape leaps from copper hues into ice-white. Tierra Patagonia operates seasonally, welcoming guests from October – April with a winter closure from 1 May to 30 September each year.

The hotel is situated in a region known for its rich biodiversity and Torres del Paine National Park is a pristine area home to various native species well-adapted to their environment.

As you explore, you may come across guanacos grazing in the plains, foxes slinking through the landscape, and majestic Andean condors soaring overhead. The park is home to a rich array of wildlife, including over 100 bird species and around 30 different mammals, from pumas, rheas, Patagonian grey foxes, hawks and eagles, lizards, flamingos and frogs. The landscape is equally captivating, with lush forests featuring beech, lenga, and coihue trees, and colourful shrubs such as firebush, winter’s bark, and fuchsia line the walking trails and paint the plains with vivid colours. In the warmer months, the land comes to life with a variety of blossoms, including delicate orchids, irises, and lupins along the riverbanks.

Birdwatching and horseback rides, led by our knowledgeable local guides, provide an opportunity for a deeper connection to the natural world. You can explore dramatic viewpoints, observe nesting sites and discover diverse natural habitats of Patagonian wildlife.

The official currency of Chile is the Chilean Peso (CLP).

Located in the southern section of Chile’s Patagonia, Tierra Patagonia observes the GMT-3 time zone. This time zone is one hour ahead of GMT-4 (when Daylight Savings Time has ended). When DST ends, Patagonia aligns with the rest of Chilean continental territory.

Spanish is the official language of Chile, however most staff at Tierra Patagonia speak both English and Spanish. Some staff speak Portuguese, and some guides are also fluent in German and French.

Mains voltage in Chile is 220V 50Hz. There are two plug types in Chile, types C and L.

Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and type L is the plug which has three round pins We use electric plug type L in our accommodations, which is also compatible with plug type C.

As the hotel thrives on a convivial atmosphere, in-suite dining isn’t offered.

As Tierra Patagonia is situated in a remote destination, it’s essential to advise any special dietary needs at the time of reservation. We will do our best to tailor menus accordingly whilst providing opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of premium regional produce. Should notice not be provided in advance, our chefs will endeavour to prepare suitable meals with the ingredients available. We regret we are unable to prepare meals requiring strict religious observance in the preparation.

Yes, laundry service is available.

There is no gym at Tierra Patagonia – just nature’s gym! We have spaces available in our spa with equipment such as yoga mats, Pilates balls, and bands for resistance work – however there are no fitness machines. For active travellers staying a minimum of three nights we recommend the Three Towers Hike with its challenging steep ascent or bike riding through the Patagonian steppe.

Uma Spa has an outdoor whirlpool and a heated indoor infinity pool, with hydro-massage, waterjets, sauna and steam room. The spa and pool are accessed from the main building by a glass enclosed walkway, ensuring beautiful views and protection from the famous Patagonian winds.

Our wellness space, which includes a yoga studio and separate relaxation rooms for men and women, is clad in warm, locally sourced wood and stone, while treatments and therapies use all-natural ingredients. Take your pick from an extensive list of facials, massages, body wraps, scrubs and alternative therapies, designed to open up your ‘prana’, or ‘life force’, promoting positive thoughts and wellbeing (massages, therapies and spa treatments are paid locally).

A path leads from the hotel to Lake Sarmiento, perfect for a leisurely walk, run or sunset stroll.

Tierra Patagonia is a 20-minute drive from the entrance to Torres del Paine National Park, with four distinct regions offering unique and epic landscapes to explore. Hikes that are not included in the hotel’s excursion offering can be arranged at an additional cost on a guided or self-guided basis.

Language guides can be arranged to accompany guests on scheduled shared touring. This is also an option on private tours. Advance bookings are recommended and additional costs apply.

We welcome guests who need accessible facilities, and the hotel is generally easy to navigate. Several rooms are designed for people with disabilities, and although some activities are restricted there are plenty of alternative options. An inspiration to all, Assistant Manager of Excursions, Kineret Munoz, demonstrates how to embark on a Patagonian adventure while using a wheelchair.
