A catamaran voyage across Lake Pehoé marks the beginning of the French Valley expedition. The trail, flanked by Paine Grande Mountain, winds along a narrow, stony path adorned with roots and small footbridges. Along the 7-kilometre route, two serene lakes and the Cuernos or Horns come into view.

At the bridge spanning the French River, a forest ascent begins, revealing the Glacier del Frances. Weather permitting, the climb continues for another hour, leading through lenga and coihue forests, past moraines and waterfalls to the ‘Plató’ scenic lookout. Here, guests savour lunch with vistas of Paine Grande and striking granite formations.
