Kayak Grey River

The journey begins on Grey Lake, kayaks tracing the shoreline of its peninsula before the current draws paddlers into Grey River. On Río Grey, the water arrives already carrying its story: ice broken loose from Grey Glacier, seventeen kilometers upstream, drifting past kayaks paddled quietly through the current.

Kayak Sin Fronteras leads this full-day journey into the heart of Torres del Paine, beginning with a private transfer from the lodge and a briefing on the water ahead before guests set out.

The first stretch is spent among floes: fragments of the glacier itself, stranded in the shallows, studied up close before the current pulls onward. Each day, guides read the water, wind and icebergs to chart that day’s route, so no two crossings look quite the same.

From there, the descent continues for several hours, broken by a stop along the riverbank for lunch before the paddle resumes. Grey River gives way to Serrano River, calmer water carrying paddlers of every experience level past shifting views of the Paine massif, its granite towers rising and receding with each bend. The day ends at the Serrano River waterside, where a transfer waits to carry guests back to Puerto Natales.
